Welcome to Warsaw in Bogota, a project led by the association Jovenes de Ambiente in Colombia. Red Nacional de Jóvenes de Ambiente is a national youth network that aims to promote the conscience of the environmental policies among youth through the multiplication of concepts, strategies and tools that contribute to the building of a healthy environmental. It promotes the creation of communication and exchange spaces among the network members through information and participation processes. The network also aims to describe development strategies to impulse entrepreneurship, generate environmental education programs and projects, research basic and applied environmental processes, formulate and implement conservation, adequate management and utilization of natural resources projects and strengthen youth participation in environmental issues. Why did you join the COP in MyCity initiative? Since we are young people committed in environmental issues, we decided to join COP in MyCity because we are aware of the challenges associated with climate change and the vulnerability of countries like Columbia. That's why we are willing to learn more about the process of climate negotiations so that we can implement actions at the local level that are in line with the global agenda. Furthermore we aims to mobilize youth in our city and the simulation exercise is a good opportunity for a kick start this mobilization. Finally, our first COP in MyCity event will be held in the Environmental Room of Bogotá, which is located in the weatland nearby the Capital. This will allow bogota citizens and participants to realize value of such bioversity-rich ecosystem. Welcome to Warsaw in Cuernacava, Mexico! Please meet the association Youth Utopia, in charge of this project. (Ver abajo en español) Utopia is an organization created by young people and which ambitions to capacitate the youth to deal with techniques of self-sustainaing comunity development. We raise awareness about social issues and teach them how to combine though and action to foster positive change in Morelos State, Mexico. Why did you join the COP in MyCity initiative? Juventud Utopía A.C. (Youth Utopia Organization) decided to join the project "COP in MyCity" and CliMates fellows because it's convinced that a sustainable world is needed and we speak for a real committment of world delegates at the UN Conference on Climate Change to show that they do care. Youth in Cuernavaca care about the local effects that global warming is having over our city and by working in our communities. We realize that the ones that live in poverty are and will be the most impacted and this is not social justice. So we decided to raise our voice in any opportunity we find and this is one.
